Fuji or overcrowding in Machu Picchu. In Barcelona recently, protesters even used water pistols to make a point. Balancing exploration with respect is key for both travellers and locals.

Food is also such an important part of our travels so try some street food, home cooked meals and get to know the country you are visiting on another level.

You wouldn’t litter your best friend’s house, so why do it on vacation? Go green as much as possible and support eco-friendly hotels and transport. Keep nature pristine for the explorers who come after you.

Day trippers often spend less as they don’t book hotels or dine locally, which can strain local resources due to high tourist numbers but low economic benefits. Instead, extend your stay to contribute more meaningfully to the local economy and enjoy a deeper connection with the destination.
